Empowered Medical Spa was created by a local nurse practitioner, EmilyJo Courterier, and Dr. John Wilkins. The idea behind Empowered came from a mutual desire to offer affordable, high-quality aesthetic and medical services to the community - to empower others to go after what they want. Whether you've been wanting to make minor improvements to your appearance or to improve your overall well-being - Empowered is here for you.

So how does aesthetic medicine and IV therapy make someone feel empowered? There is a special type of confidence that you have when you're looking and feeling your best and I wanted to share that with the community - in an affordable and modest way. I fell in love with this field when I worked for a cosmetic surgeon in FL and wanted to bring this to our already beautiful community. Dr. Wilkins is a dedicated Osteopathic Family Medicine Physician. He received his undergraduate and medical school degrees from Michigan State University. With greater than 8 years of holistic medical training focusing on body systems and manipulative therapy, Dr. Wilkins enjoys focusing on teaching patients to help in healing themselves. He is certified in Botox therapy and has several years of experience in medspa medical directorship. Dr. Wilkins is a family-oriented physician, who enjoys running, biking, skiing, camping and the splendor of Northern Michigan.

EmilyJo is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who grew up in Lewiston, MI and attended Johannesburg-Lewiston Area Schools. She received her undergraduate degree from Saginaw Valley State University and worked as an Emergency/Trauma Nurse for several years before receiving her Masters of Science in Nursing. She has experience in international critical care air transport, emergency, trauma, cosmetic surgery, post-acute care and leadership. She enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors. EmilyJo is dedicated to helping clients look and feel their best.
